Nancy Wallerstein
Nancy Wallerstein has been a dedicated board member of The Parks and Recreation Foundation of Johnson County since the earth cooled. With a background in Parks and Recreation advocacy, she brings a wealth of experience to the Foundation. Nancy previously served as a JCPRD Board Commissioner for over 20 years.
Nancy is passionate about all things JCPRD. Her knowledge of JCPRD’s wide range of services provides the Foundation insight to many of the district’s programs, facilities, trails and park initiatives. Nancy is an advocate of the arts, humanities, land acquisition, prairie restoration and children’s services, to name a few. Through the Foundation, she will continue to advocate and promote JCPRD, wherever she is needed.
Much of Nancy’s interests lie in her work as an appointee to the Johnson County Museum Advisory Board and the Friends of the Johnson County Museum. She is a regular theatre attendee and rarely misses a performance of Theatre in the Park. Her personal hobbies include antique collecting, all sorts of puzzles, being with friends and watching her grandson grow.
Nancy Wallerstein is a former business owner of nearly 40 years, now retired.
Besides serving on the Johnson County Museum Advisory Council and Friends Boards, she is the Johnson County Representative to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library State Advisory Board. As a former Chair/Board member of other organizations, Nancy serves on the Growing Futures Early Education Advisory Board, The Barn Players Theatre Advisory Board, the Shawnee Indian Mission Foundation Advisory Board and is also an active member of the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce.
